Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior Engineer with extensive postgraduate drainage design experience for roads, active travel, and major civil projects. You will join a high-performing team across the London & South East region with options in Cambridge, London, Basingstoke, Guildford, or Southampton.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant discipline.
• Significant postgraduate experience delivering surface water drainage for major road projects.
• Capable of working to tight deadlines under pressure with honesty and integrity.
• CEng or IEng status with a professional institute or close to achieving a qualification.
• Excellent knowledge of drainage principles, DMRB standards, SuDs and hydraulic modelling.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality engineering services as part of an integrated team and coordinate resources to deliver work packages.
• Provide technical input to multidisciplinary internal project teams for transportation, development, and environmental projects.
• Prepare technical reports and communicate outputs to clients effectively.
• Develop the technical capacity of the Roads and drainage team.
• Design road drainage and flood risk measures using industry-standard software across feasibility, concept, and detailed design stages.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation and QA standards.
