Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer to join their Water and Environment North team in Sheffield. The role includes developing drainage designs, managing large-scale projects, and fostering client relationships. Ideal candidates should have a relevant degree, technical experience in drainage standards, and excellent communication skills. Qualifications

  • Must have a relevant degree qualification in Civil Engineering, geography, or equivalent.
  • Technical experience in UK drainage standards including SuDS is essential.
  • Chartered Member or working towards chartered membership of a professional institution.
  • Experience with drainage modelling software (MicroDrainage or Causeway Flow) and AutoCAD/Civil3D.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Become a key member of the Water and Environment North team.
  • Assist clients to enhance technical progression.
  • Work with design teams to deliver large scale infrastructure projects.
  • Mentor and develop colleagues within Waterman Aspen and teams.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.

Skills

Technical experience in UK drainage standards

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education

Relevant Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent

  • Experience of developing and assessing drainage designs using industry standard drainage modelling software (MicroDrainage or Causeway Flow) and technically competent in fundamental hydraulic design principles
  • Efficient in the use of AutoCAD and Civil3D
  • A successful track record in project and construction management, working with design teams to deliver large scale infrastructure projects
  • Experience working in diverse multi-disciplined teams to produce deliverables to a high standard
  • Experience working in client facing environments and ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes
  • Develop and build mutually beneficial external stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Chartered Membership of relevant professional organisation
