Job summary

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a registered Dosimetrist, Clinical Technologist or Therapeutic Radiographer to support the Dose Planning section within the Radiotherapy Department. The post covers Cumberland Infirmary (Carlisle) and Freeman Hospital, delivering high‑quality radiotherapy dose planning for NCIC and NCCC patients.

You will work independently within guidelines, contribute to R&D projects and participate in an in-house competency training programme.

Qualifications

• Certification in radiotherapy practice and registration with relevant professional body.
• Experience in radiotherapy dose planning or dosimetry preferred.
• Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design radiotherapy plans and determine treatment parameters on a treatment planning system.
• Validate treatment data for integrity and clinical use and export for treatment.
• Develop highly complex plans for patients with dosimetric problems and communicate findings to staff.
• Participate in research development projects from inception to completion.
• Contribute to training and education of staff and visitors to the section.
• Manage own workload to ensure delivery of the dose planning service.
