Job summary

Honeycomb Group is seeking a Senior Domestic Abuse Practitioner to support adults and families in our safe accommodation services in Staffordshire Moorlands. The role delivers focused one-to-one support to help service users live life free from abuse.

You will manage a small team, work with multi-agency partners, and assist with housing, benefits and tenancy progression while meeting funding requirements.

Qualifications

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to use basic software.
• Experience leading a team and conducting appraisals.
• Knowledge of safeguarding principles and practices.
• Understanding of domestic abuse dynamics and remedies.

Responsibilities

• Process referrals, assess risk and deliver tailored practical, emotional and advocacy support for service users.
• Line manage staff and contribute to a safe, flexible, high-quality service.
• Collaborate with multi-agency partners and attend MARAC/CYP meetings.
• Support customers with housing, benefits, tenancy responsibilities and progression to independence.
• Assist with service delivery tasks including rota management, on-call support, reporting and meeting targets.
• Prepare voids and assist with void clearing as needed.

As a Senior Domestic Abuse Practitioner, youll support adults and families living in our safe accommodation services. Youll deliver focused and tailored one-to-one support to help them live a life free from abuse.

What youll do:

• Process customer referrals, identify risk and support needs, and deliver tailored practical, emotional and advocacy support for both male and female service users.
• Line manage staff and contribute to a safe, flexible, and high-quality support service.
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, attending meetings (e.g. MARAC/CYP) and advocating for customers.
• Support customers with housing, benefits, tenancy responsibilities, and progression towards independence.
• Assist with service delivery, including rota management, on-call support, reporting, and meeting targets/funding requirements.
• Happy to clean and prepare voids.

Who you are:

• A good level of education such as GCSE English and maths, or equivalent.
• Experience delivering support to customers, recognising their individual needs, making sure they have access to opportunities, all while meeting set deadlines.
• Experience supporting adults with complex needs such as relationship abuse and mental health.
• Knowledge of safeguarding.
• Experience of supporting a team, completing appraisals and check-ins.
• Knowledge of housing and health and safety requirements in a safe accommodation setting.
• An understanding of domestic abuse, including the impact on those affected by it and the legal and practical remedies available to them.
• The ability to work well under pressure and in complex situations.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good computer skills.
• Domestic abuse and safeguarding qualifications.
• A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle for work.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a DBS check.
