Job summary

JD Sports in the United Kingdom seeks an Operations Manager for the Distribution Centre to lead and develop a team of Managers, delivering the distribution business plan within budget while maintaining safe, high-performance operations.

You will drive a safety-first culture, coach large teams, manage capacity and stock with planning partners, and continuously improve processes to meet KPIs and business needs.

Qualifications

• Managerial experience within a similar size manufacturing, processing or distribution environment.
• Automation experience.
• Worked with large teams and large scale operations.
• Multi-Channel experience.
• Proven working knowledge of Health & Safety and legal requirements within a distribution environment.
• Ability to interpret data and effectively apply outcome to the needs of the business.
• Knowledge of team dynamics and the effects of a positive working environment.
• Demonstrate the ability to coach, lead and motivate large teams to deliver results.
• Experience of working within set budgetary and performance targeted workplace.
• Able to clearly communicate at all levels (direct and indirect reports) delegating to the appropriate level.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and ensure colleagues work to Company Standards and Health & Safety measures.
• Maintain a safety-first culture and escalate breaches or risks to site Management/HS team.
• Develop and implement operational strategy to meet KPIs within budget.
• Collaborate with Planning to define headcount, capacity and stock needs.
• Drive continuous improvements in process quality, efficiency and consistency.
• Support budget and forecast development for capital and revenue expenditure.
• Develop colleagues through probation reviews, appraisals and PDPs.
