Are you a seasoned litigator ready to take the reins of a profitable, well-established caseload and step confidently into a clear equity pathway?
This is a rare and strategic senior appointment with one of South West Londons most respected independent law firms. With more than 200 years of heritage and a strong reputation across the region, this firm expertly blends traditional values with a forward-thinking, commercially driven outlook.
As part of a carefully planned succession strategy, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Dispute Resolution Solicitor to take over from a retiring partner and play a leading role in the departments continued growth and success.

Youll inherit a thriving partner-level caseload spanning a broad range of civil and commercial disputes, with the support of a small, capable team that you will supervise and develop. Working closely with the Managing Partner, youll have both the freedom and support to shape the departments direction, implement your vision, and ultimately progress into partnership within a defined timeframe.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage a well-established caseload covering:
Commercial and contract disputes
Property litigation, including landlord and tenant
Contentious probate, wills, and estate-related claims
Insolvency and partnership disputes, tort, and general civil litigation
Supervise and support junior team members including a solicitor, paralegal, and assistant
Play a key role in departmental growth, including mentoring and recruitment
Drive business development efforts while a following isnt required, commercial awareness is essential
Collaborate with the wider leadership team on firmwide initiatives and long-term strategy
Uphold high standards of client care, regulatory compliance, and legal excellence
Were looking for a confident, well-rounded litigator whos ready to step into a visible leadership role. You should combine technical litigation skills with a commercial mindset, emotional intelligence, and a genuine appetite to be part of a high-functioning leadership team.
Essential:
UK-qualified solicitor with 7+ years PQE in civil and commercial litigation
Broad experience across commercial disputes, landlord/tenant, and private client litigation
Proven ability to supervise and support junior team members effectively
Comfortable managing a partner-level caseload independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting, negotiation, and advocacy
Experience in or appetite for business development and networking
Self-driven, reliable, and highly professional
Desirable:
Prior experience in a succession-based leadership role
Based in or commutable to South West London (minimum 3-day office presence preferred)
Familiarity with modern case management systems and efficient practice management
