Senior Director of Engineering – Leading Global HealthTech Innovator

Series B | £40M+ Backing | London (Hybrid, 2 Days Onsite)

We’re proud to be working with a trailblazer in the HealthTech sector – a global force backed by significant Series B investment – as they search for a seasoned Director of Engineering with a solid software engineering background to drive innovation, scale teams, and shape the next chapter of their technical journey.

Your Mission:

As a key member of the leadership team, you’ll take the reins of the engineering organisation – 100-strong and growing – and steer it through an exciting phase of expansion and transformation. This is more than a management role; it’s a chance to architect meaningful change in a mission-driven environment.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Heading up cross-functional engineering teams (Software, QA, Architecture) in a fast-moving, technically intricate environment.
• Collaborating closely with other senior leaders across Product, Growth, Sales and Finance to align on the product roadmap and deliver strategic business capabilities.
• Championing best-in-class engineering practices, from DevOps to CI/CD, security, automation and infrastructure as code.
• Helping shape the architecture behind a platform trusted by some of the biggest names in the industry.
• Coaching and mentoring at scale, helping future leaders emerge from within while fostering a high-performing, curious and collaborative engineering culture.

What We're Looking For

This isn’t your first rodeo. You’re an established engineering leader who’s:

• Built and scaled high-performing teams in high-growth environments.
• Firmly established with a software engineering background
• Operated at scale, balancing agility with security, stability and reliability on global platforms.
• Able to lead from the front on tech strategy while still being technically credible and curious – you're comfortable diving deep when needed.
• Proficient across a range of tools and technologies, ideally including: AWS, .NET, Node, TypeScript, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and TDD.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity, solving complex problems across people, processes and platforms.
• Passionate about performance, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
