The post requires chartered engineering status, extensive experience in healthcare estates compliance, and the ability to drive change across a complex portfolio.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in estates compliance within a large healthcare organisation.
• In-depth knowledge of statutory, regulatory NHS estates requirements (HTMs/HBNs).
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional status in engineering or estates management.
• Proven ability to influence at Board level and lead organisational change.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and risk management skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and set the estates technical compliance strategy with adherence to NHS guidance.
• Advise the Board and executives on risks, priorities and investment needs.
• Oversee development of compliance monitoring, audits and reporting frameworks.
• Foster accountability and culture of continuous improvement.
• Drive adoption of digital monitoring tools and sustainability-focused solutions.
• Act as Authorised Person for key engineering disciplines and ensure safe systems of work.
