About The Role

DP World is currently recruiting a Senior Director – Commercial – Logistics to lead within our North Europe Cluster. This role is responsible for leading and expanding our commercial team across Contract Logistics, Port Centric, and Domestic Transport. Drive growth by obtaining new business in multiple verticals and maintaining existing relationships. Be a key contributor to our company's ambitious growth plans, supporting the launch of new logistics verticals. Recruit and set up sales teams to support expansion into Retail, Consumer, Engineering & Manufacturing, and Pharmaceuticals. Actively promote cross-selling between DP World products and services to maximize opportunities and market share.

NOTE: This role can be based within the UK, Ireland, or Nordics. Business travel will be required as part of this position predominantly within Europe.

How will you contribute:

  • Responsible for growing the DP World business by winning new business within new customers. This position requires the ability to manage a sales team and work closely with various functions (Engineering, Operations, IT, Finance, etc.) across the organization and regions.
  • Lead the Contract Logistics, Domestic Transport, and Port Centric Commercial sales team to help them succeed in obtaining new business. The primary responsibility of this team is to develop and expand DP World's service offering within Cluster North, selling logistics and value-added services.
  • Play a key role in establishing long-term strategic relationships with prospects/clients up to and including the executive level within customers.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive territory plan aimed at identifying the top regional/industry opportunities and expanding business to new accounts within multiple verticals.
  • Generate effective leads and opportunities from the territory plan.
  • Identify and develop relationships with key decision-makers at all levels within an account.
  • Understand the customer's business (strategically, operationally, financially).
  • Understand the customer's buying process and identify all influences, intimately understanding their requirements.
  • Work across DP World to create custom solutions that deliver value to our customers.
  • Qualify and quantify potential growth opportunities.
  • Leverage company resources (solution experts, industry experts, operations, executive support) to assist in developing accounts.
  • Maintain an open dialogue with the account executive sponsors and keep the sponsors engaged in the relevant accounts.
  • Ensure that the team maintains an up-to-date pipeline of current and future opportunities, quantifying the number of opportunities, value of the opportunity, and managing the probability to win.
  • Manage owners of the commercial relationships and support with sales and contract negotiations.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree preferably in Business or Supply Chain.
  • At least 10 years of Business Development and industry experience in supply chain or logistics.
  • Proven track record of managing a team that has consistently achieved on a sales quota at a relevant scale.
  • Working knowledge with CRM and Knowledge Management tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving sales performance, achieving targets, and fostering team development.
  • In-depth knowledge of market trends, customer needs, and innovative supply chain solutions.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective business strategies to drive growth and profitability.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost management to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Track record of identifying opportunities, negotiating contracts, and expanding market share.
  • Ability to work effectively with other departments to promote cross-selling and integrated service offerings.
  • Skilled in mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Ability to navigate complex challenges and adapt to changing market conditions.
