Job summary

Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is seeking a Senior Developer to design, build and evolve high-impact digital platforms serving millions across the UK. You will work in a multidisciplinary, Agile team delivering quality software and data management solutions.

You will mentor junior developers, drive end-to-end delivery, and promote coding standards and automated testing. This role emphasizes user-centered design and continuous improvement within the DVSA digital program.

Qualifications

• A proven track record in successful agile development of digital services.
• Proficiency in front-end and/or back-end development, with expertise in PHP, TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Experience coaching developers within Agile frameworks, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Quick adoption of new programming tools, sharing knowledge with peers and juniors.

Responsibilities

• Build digital services and software solutions to meet user needs, complying with standards.
• Implement APIs for internal and external use.
• Develop user-centric solutions and improve end-to-end services.
• Foster continuous improvement of services through strategic changes.
• Provide leadership and guidance to Developers and Junior/Apprentice Developers.
