Overview

Senior Digital Policy Advisor, Digital Planning Programme to join the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG). The role supports the department's strategic policy agenda for digital planning reform within the Digital Planning Programme, a high-profile policy area on the Government Major Projects Portfolio. The programme includes AI-related work, including an AI Exemplar project, and explores the use of AI to improve the planning system. The role sits in the Policy, Engagement and Legislation team within the Digital Planning Programme and involves engaging with a broad range of stakeholders across government to design and shape cross-cutting policies, including AI policy. The role provides leadership on digital planning strategy to ensure ownership and buy-in with those delivering policy outcomes and to build the mandate for digital planning reform.

+ Provide high quality support to Ministers and senior leaders on the digital planning and Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) AI agenda, including verbal and written advice, events and other ad-hoc policy requests as required. + As a subject matter expert in AI policy, ensure all programme products related to its AI policy (including briefings, cross-government commissions, submissions, lines to take, etc.) are effectively produced and tailored to the audience and purpose. + Support gathering, analysis and evaluation of evidence to support AI adoption in planning and ensure robustness and reliability, informing sound policy and business case recommendations. + Work closely with multidisciplinary agile digital teams to overcome barriers to delivery progress and ensure that product and strategy roadmaps are well aligned. + Lead on the programme\'s Monitoring and Evaluation work.
