Senior Digital Forensic Investigator

Based in Warwickshire

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum

The role involves performing operational tasks, including analyzing digital devices for forensic examination and producing reports/statements for potential court presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide written estimates for forensic examination of digital devices for prosecution and defence.
• Develop case-specific examination strategies and summaries with costs.
• Organize casework to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost standards.
• Conduct investigations on computer devices timely, within budget, and to high standards, following best practices.
• Assist with equipment seizure and on-site acquisitions.
• Oversee research and development by team members.
• Produce reports and provide expert evidence based on findings.
• Review colleagues’ reports to maintain quality.
• Handle exhibits according to evidential rules.
• Mentor junior staff and brief customers accurately.
• Communicate regularly with customers on case progress.
• Stay updated on technological advancements and suggest process improvements.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills

• Experience in forensic computer investigation and digital device analysis.
• Degree or equivalent in computer science or forensics.
• Proven experience in forensic investigations, including imaging, analysis, reporting, and court testimony.
• Knowledge of UK legislation and ethical standards.
• Strong report-writing skills and knowledge of computer forensics.
