This role is open to all Mace offices across the UK.

Mace consult BIM team supports clients and project teams with developing and maintaining information requirements and standards, managing processes within a common data environment, and leading the delivery of information management for projects. The role involves advising, innovating, understanding, developing, and implementing processes described within the ISO 19650 series, including how information is produced and assured for digital delivery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assessing current resources on projects to ensure sufficiency for meeting project goals.
  • Assigning the right people to the right jobs to ensure projects are well-resourced.
  • Communicating effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Conducting interviews to assess skills and experience for BIM roles.
  • Delegating tasks effectively.
  • Developing BIM execution plans (BEP).
  • Developing the client's digital handover strategy.
  • Maintaining understanding of ISO 19650 and applicable standards.
  • Ensuring security protocols for information viewing and issuing.
  • Implementing governance and assurance processes.
  • Monitoring digital handover to completion.
  • Participating in industry events to stay updated on BIM developments.
  • Producing information requirements (OIR, AIR, PIR, EIR) as per ISO 19650.
  • Developing information standards, methods, procedures, and shared resources.
  • Recruiting new talent for the BIM team.
  • Supporting compliance with Mace processes and regulations.
  • Developing object libraries aligned with BIM strategy.
  • Ensuring assurance and checking of the Information Model.
  • Producing the information model (Pre-RIBA Stage 3).
  • Reviewing Autodesk Construction Cloud account management and staying updated on Autodesk developments.
  • Researching new technological solutions to improve BIM processes.
  • Reviewing roles and responsibilities within BIM job families.
  • Supporting BIM maturity assessments and construction sequencing strategies.
  • Assisting the cost team with information models for cost planning.
  • Training BIM team members on databases, data analysis, templates, assurance, COBie, and related topics.
  • Understanding and performing in line with the information management assignment matrix (from BS EN ISO 19650-2).
  • Understanding authoring information and setup of CDE processes and tools.
  • Upskilling client teams and internal staff through knowledge sharing sessions.
  • Collaborating closely with project and design teams on procedural compliance.

Minimum qualifications and skills include:

  • Advanced understanding of content management systems, Autodesk desktop and cloud products, validation tools, visualization tools, and databases.
  • Personal effectiveness: planning, organizing, collaboration, problem-solving, adaptability, results delivery.
  • Deep knowledge of ISO 19650, BS1192, CDE, IFC, COBie, classifications.
  • Leadership and communication skills.
  • Level 6 qualifications or equivalent (e.g., bachelor's degree with honours).

Additional preferred skills:

  • Advanced understanding of GIS tools and Adobe products.
  • Experience at senior management (1-3 years) or managerial level (3-5 years).
  • Values sustainability, social responsibility, and inclusivity.
  • Level 7 qualifications or equivalent (e.g., master's degree).

Note: This role requires BPSS Security clearance.
