Job summary

Allegro MicroSystems, LLC in Edinburgh is seeking a Snr Digital Design Engineer to define and implement the digital architecture for mixed-signal motor drive ICs. You will mentor engineers and lead the architecture for complex digital solutions, from IP to full SoC designs.

You will own project schedules, drive technical strategy, oversee resources, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, tapeout-ready designs while maintaining FuSa compliance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of digital design or architecture experience.
• Experience with complex IP, CPU subsystems and interconnect fabrics (AMBA/AXI).
• PhD or Master’s degree in Electronics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own digital design project schedules for the Edinburgh team across RTL, Verification, DFT, and Synthesis.
• Define the digital architectural roadmap for motor drivers and align with global product lines.
• Identify bottlenecks or gaps in resources; manage risk.
• Serve as the digital technical contact with Marketing, Systems, and Analog Design.
• Ensure first-pass silicon success and FuSa compliance (ISO 26262).
