Job summary

Optiver in London is seeking a Senior Digital Assets Software Engineer to build and evolve trading systems for crypto markets, working with traders and researchers to deliver fast, reliable production systems. You will design connectivity to major exchanges, own production systems, and help shape the digital assets platform, applying distributed-systems thinking in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Strong C++ skills and 5+ years in real-time trading contexts are essential; AWS/GCP

Qualifications

5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in trading or real-time systems.
Strong C++ development skills for production systems.
Experience integrating with centralised crypto exchanges (Binance, Deribit, OKX).
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
Strong problem-solving and collaborative working style.

Responsibilities

Design and build trading systems for digital asset markets.
Develop and manage connectivity to centralised exchanges such as Binance, Deribit, and OKX.
Collaborate with traders and researchers to prototype and iterate trading strategies.
Improve system reliability via automation, monitoring, and recovery mechanisms.
Troubleshoot issues across trading systems and exchange integrations.
Contribute to architecture and shape the digital assets platform.
Take ownership of production systems and drive continuous improvements.
