Job summary

A leading health organization in Wales is seeking a caring and dedicated individual to assist registered nurses in providing delegated care for renal patients. You will undertake various responsibilities, including supervising patients and assisting in the induction of healthcare support workers. Candidates should have NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care and experience in a renal environment. Fluency in Welsh is desirable but not required.

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Experience of working as a HCSW without direct supervision in a renal setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist registered nurses/practitioners in providing care for renal patients.
  • Supervise patients and assist them as required.

Job description
  • The post holder will assist registered nurses / practitioners in the provision of delegated care of renal patients. The post holder will endeavour to provide for the holistic needs of the individual, in conjunction with other disciplines within the care environment.
  • The post holder will undertake a broad range of duties and will be expected to work independently, and as part of the team, supervising patients and assisting them as required.
  • The post holder will be required to offer assistance in the induction of band 2 renal health care support workers.
  • The post holder will able to deliver elements of renal care by having the knowledge and assessed level of competence to undertake such a role which will be locally assessed.

Qualifications and / or Knowledge
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care related subjects or equivalent qualifications / experience.
  • Good knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • All Wales HCSW induction framework.
  • Knowledge of working in a renal environment.
Experience
  • Experience of working as a HCSW without direct supervision in a renal setting and being managed by a qualified practitioner.
  • Good understanding of risk assessment and management.
