Qualifications

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: up to £49,600 OTE (basic up to £41,000 plus additional £2k per annum for EV qualification and bonus of £6,000 per annum)

Hours: (42 hours per week) Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5.00pm and Saturdays on rota 8:00am - 12:30pm

Our Service team at Chelmsford Ford are recruiting for a Senior or Diagnostic Technician to join their fantastic workshop. While working alongside a team of other experienced technicians, you will play a vital role carrying out mechanical and electrical diagnosis to manufacturer guidelines, and liaising with the Master Technician for guidance when dealing with complex issues.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out mechanical and electrical diagnosis using (Brand specific diagnostic machine) to manufacturers guidelines
  • Working with the Master Tech for guidance when dealing with complex issues
  • Working closely with the manufacturers technical team when guidance is required
  • Advising the customer/ manufacturer of any further work required
  • Road testing with the customer to support in identifying faults

Qualifications

The ideal candidate to be considered for this role will have minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent, motor industry experience (brand or non-brand), and a full and valid UK driving licence. You must also have previous experience as a Senior or Diagnostic Technician. You’ll be self-motivated whilst being able to support your team, ambitious and eager to learn, and are able to work to and maintain the highest of standards to all vehicles that take a spin through our doors.
