UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) is seeking a Senior Diagnostic Project Engineer to lead diagnostic projects within the Plasma Science & Operations Division. You will manage from definition to end-of-life processing for subsystems, ensuring risk is owned until close-out and coordinating with internal and external teams.
The role requires a degree in a relevant field, strong leadership and project planning experience, and the ability to drive designs with high technical competence.

The salary for this role is £57,117(inclusive of a Specialist Allowance) . Onsite working is expected for 3days a week, however, we actively support requests for flexible working.
This role can be based at any of the following sites:Culham, Oxfordshire.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) , including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open source data.
The Diagnostic & Fusion Engineering Team is part of the Sensors & Control Unit in the Plasma Science & Operations Division. The team offers engineering and installation support on a range of diagnostic systems and related technology, working closely with scientific and technical staff. The team works on projects from across UKAEA as well as contracts with national and international partners.
will manage a range of diagnostic projects varying in scale and complexity. You will take a lead role in creating innovative design solutions to meet challenging requirements relating to diagnostic and fusion-related systems, acting as both an experienced project manager and contributing to designs with a high level of technical competence.
The post holder will take full responsibility for the definition, design, manufacture, assembly, commissioning, operation, disassembly and end of life processing for a variety of diagnostic and fusion-related subsystems, including ownership of project risk until close-out.
