Job summary

Synergize Consulting Ltd seeks an experienced Senior DevSecOps Engineer in Reading, with hybrid working options. The role requires active SC clearance and a strong background in secure DevSecOps for Defence and Aerospace programmes.

You will drive secure platform design, embed automated security into CI/CD, and implement IaC across Azure/AWS environments. You will lead threat modelling, secure software development lifecycle adoption, and container security across enterprise platforms, while

Qualifications

Active SC Clearance is required for the role.
Experience in Defence, MOD or Aerospace sectors is essential.
Extensive DevSecOps/DevOps experience with platform engineering or cloud security.
Proven ability to build secure CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins.
Strong Azure and/or AWS security experience.
Hands-on IaC with Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates or Ansible.
Experience securing Kubernetes and containerised environments.
Knowledge of IAM, RBAC and PAM.
Experience with SAST/DAST/SCA and secrets management.
Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python or Bash.

Responsibilities

Lead design and implementation of secure DevSecOps platforms and toolchains.
Embed automated security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
Develop secure Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, Ansible).
Design secure Azure, AWS and hybrid cloud environments.
Implement vulnerability management, security monitoring and automated compliance.
Support threat modelling and security architecture reviews.
Drive adoption of SSDLC best practices.
Implement container security across enterprise platforms.
Improve automation, platform resilience and operational security.
