Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead DevOps strategy across UK programmes. You will act as the technical authority, shaping architectures, delivery, and roadmaps while guiding teams to secure, automated software delivery.

The role is based on client sites in the UK with a focus on advanced automation and governance. The position requires extensive experience in CI/CD, containerization, cloud platforms, and DevSecOps practices, with willingness to mentor others and engage in

Qualifications

Expert knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and orchestration.
Strong containerization and cloud experience across AWS/Azure.
Experience embedding cyber security controls into pipelines and infrastructure.
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Understanding accreditation, assurance, and governance in secure environments.

Responsibilities

Act as the technical authority for DevOps across programmes and shape architectures.
Define DevOps roadmaps, innovation, and future automation strategies.
Lead feasibility studies and technology assessments for complex engineering challenges.
Provide advanced guidance in CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
Mentor engineers across levels to raise DevOps capability.
