Type of employment: Permanent, Full time

Position Overview

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you'll join our small, remote DevOps team, working closely with the wider Platform team to design, implement, maintain, and support ZigZag’s infrastructure and application architecture in Microsoft Azure. You will contribute to scalable, resilient solutions in a dynamic environment.

• Databases: SQL Server, MongoDB, CosmosDB, MySQL
• APIs & Integrations: RESTful APIs, GraphQL, SOAP, Postman, Swagger
• Scripting & Automation: Python, Bash, PowerShell

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Management:

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure, in a hybrid Windows/Linux environment using Kubernetes, Docker, CosmosDB, SQL Server, embodying our innovative spirit.
• Manage Azure resources with a growth mindset, focusing on scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Monitor system performance, proactively address issues, and optimize performance.

Continuous Integration and Deployment:

• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines on Azure DevOps and ArgoCD, automating processes to speed up software delivery.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize release cycles and deployment efficiency.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and empowerment through streamlined deployment processes.

Configuration Management:

• Use tools like Terragrunt, Terraform, Ansible, ARM for configuration management, promoting consistency and reliability.
• Manage infrastructure as code, supporting our expanding operations.
• Prioritize ease of use and accessibility, empowering team contributions.

Monitoring and Logging:

• Leverage monitoring tools to track system health and performance, ensuring high availability.
• Configure logging and alerting systems for proactive issue detection and resolution.
• Optimize monitoring to minimize alert fatigue and support team well-being.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement security best practices, protect infrastructure and data, and conduct regular security assessments.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, SOC 2, and other standards.
• Promote security awareness and accountability among team members.

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:

• Work with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure with business goals.
• Share expertise and best practices, fostering continuous learning.
• Promote inclusivity and empathy in collaboration and knowledge sharing.

What you need to be successful:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Extensive experience in DevOps or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Azure and architecture.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps tools like ArgoCD and Flux.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, Python.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus.
• Understanding of networking, security, and compliance principles.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
