Job Description:
Role Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure using AWS services.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK with Python to automate deployment and management of cloud resources.
- Collaborate with software engineers, QA engineers, and Project Managers to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software development lifecycle and ensure rapid, reliable releases.
- Setup observability to monitor system performance, availability/issues, and implement solutions to address the findings.
- Ensure security best practices are followed and implement necessary measures to protect cloud infrastructure and applications.
- Adhere to TP ICAP Cloud standards, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to an agile mindset within the team.
- Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure, processes, and configurations.
- Assist in upskilling other team members of the team.
Experience / Competences
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, preferably in the finance sector.
- Strong understanding of AWS services and hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly using AWS CDK.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and frameworks (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
- Fluent in containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Helm Charts for managing Kubernetes clusters (EKS).
- Experience with OpenTelemetry and the LGTM stack of observability tools
- Experience working in agile environments and a strong agile mindset.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure without being distracted by complexity.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Passion for automation and a commitment to maintaining high standards of infrastructure management.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in AWS services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools.
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and backlog management tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Ability to write clear and concise documentation.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
