Job summary

Global Relay is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our software teams in London. You will design, implement, and support automated, scalable CI/CD pipelines ensuring reliable, secure, and high-quality software deployments from build to production.

You will collaborate across teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to service reliability through dashboards, monitoring, and proactive issue resolution. A hybrid work model with office and home time is offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years experience applying DevOps practices and implementing solutions.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, and shell scripting.
• Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Bamboo, GitLabCI, CircleCI, TravisCI.
• Experience using container and container platform technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience in mentoring and supporting other DevOps engineers.
• Experience in a microservice‑oriented environment.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and troubleshooting network issues.
• Experience applying security practices within the software development lifecycle.
• Excellent understanding of Git branching models and configuration management.
• Experience with Ansible, Helm, Puppet.
• Experience with Maven/Gradle.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support automated, scalable CI/CD solutions.
• Monitor and ensure smooth operation of production and test environments with dashboards and alerts.
• Mentor junior/intermediate DevOps engineers to maximise impact.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to automate requirements early in development.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues by reviewing dashboards and logs; implement preventive measures.
• Develop deployment automation tools using Helm, Ansible, or similar tools.
