Job summary

Gremlin LTD. is seeking a senior DevOps/Platform Engineer to lead cloud infrastructure initiatives and architect scalable AWS platforms. You will design reliable CI/CD pipelines and establish IaC standards using Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation, while driving cost optimisations.

You’ll mentor junior engineers, engage directly with clients, and steer end-to-end delivery of complex projects with minimal hand-holding.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering experience.
• Deep AWS knowledge across compute, networking, and storage.
• Strong IaC skills (Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK).
• Ability to explain technical decisions to clients without jargon.
• Experience leading projects end-to-end and mentoring engineers.

You’ve done this before. You know the difference between a well-architected platform and a house of cards held together with bash scripts and good intentions. We need you to build the former.

You’ll lead infrastructure projects for our clients, design cloud platforms that work, mentor the team, and set the bar for how we deliver. If you’ve ever inherited a “it works on my machine” pipeline and turned it into something reliable, we should talk.

What you’ll do

• Architect and implement cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Design CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows that people want to use
• Define Infrastructure as Code standards using Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation
• Conduct cost optimisation reviews and implement real savings (not just spreadsheet theatre)
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to hiring

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering experience
• Deep AWS knowledge across compute, networking, and storage
• Strong IaC skills (Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK)
• Comfortable working directly with clients: you can explain technical decisions without hiding behind jargon
• Able to lead a project end-to-end without hand-holding

Nice to have

• Multi-account AWS strategy (Control Tower, Organisations)
• Service mesh experience (Istio, Linkerd)
• FinOps or cloud cost management experience
• Security automation and compliance tooling

• Babysit a ticket queue instead of doing real engineering
