Job summary

Stott and May is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing technology team supporting a large-scale eCommerce and digital estate. You will own production and non-production environments, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and operational excellence while collaborating with development, IT and third-party partners to deliver secure, resilient services.

The role emphasizes ownership of CI/CD pipelines across Azure DevOps and GitHub, IaC with Terraform/Pulumi/ARM, and

Qualifications

  • Experience leading DevOps in Azure-based environments.
  • Proven ability to own CI/CD pipelines end-to-end.
  • Strong monitoring and incident response skills.
  • Experience in eCommerce or digital estates preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of security, GDPR and PCI DSS.

Responsibilities

  • Own and improve CI/CD pipelines across Azure DevOps and GitHub.
  • Support and optimise production environments and incidents.
  • Drive monitoring, observability, performance and reliability improvements.
  • Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform, Pulumi or ARM.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure live supportability.
  • Implement automation and preventive improvements.
  • Support release, change and service transition activities.
  • Promote DevOps, Agile, and ITIL best practices.
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to technical standards.
  • Ensure security, GDPR and PCI DSS compliance.

Senior DevOps Engineer

Type: Permanent

Start: ASAP

Salary: up to £85k p/annum

Location: Central London (limited travel ad hoc)

We're looking for an experiencedSenior DevOps Engineerto join a high-performing technology team supporting a large-scaleeCommerce and digital estate.

You'll take ownership of production and non-production environments, deployment pipelines, monitoring and operational excellence, while working closely with development, IT and third-party partners to deliversecure, resilient and scalable digital services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and improveCI/CD pipelinesacross Azure DevOps and GitHub.
  • Support and optimise production environments, resolving complex incidents and problems.
  • Drivemonitoring, observability, performance and reliabilityimprovements.
  • Develop and maintainInfrastructure as Codeusing Terraform, Pulumi or ARM.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure applications are designed for live supportability.
  • Implement automation, proactive monitoring and preventative improvements.
  • Support release, change and service transition activities.
  • Promote DevOps, Agile and ITIL best practices across the team.
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to technical standards and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure solutions meet relevantsecurity, GDPR and PCI DSSrequirements.
Key Technical Skills
  • StrongMicrosoft Azureexperience across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, serverless and containers.
  • StrongCI/CDexperience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub.
  • Infrastructure as Code -Terraform, Pulumi or ARM.
  • Scripting withPowerShell, Python, YAML and/or TypeScript.
  • Strong understanding of networking, DNS, routing, firewalls and load balancing.
  • Experience withmicroservices and high-traffic web environments.
  • Monitoring/observability experience withDynatrace, Catchpoint or similar.
  • Knowledge ofCDNs, WAF, OWASP and application security.
  • Experience supporting web/mobile applications, ideally withinretail or eCommerce.
  • Understanding of.NET, React/Vue and modern web technologies.
  • Experience with databases and application performance optimisation.
Desirable
  • Azure DevOps or Azure Architecture certification.
  • Experience withITIL / ISO27001.
  • Azure MLOps / operationalising machine-learning models.
  • Experience integratingAI/agent-based solutionsinto enterprise environments.
  • Experience with Akamai or similar CDN platforms.
