Overview:

Arm is scaling for the age of AI, and data is key for that journey! We're building a robust internal data platform to empower engineers and enable innovation across the business. To support that mission, we're growing our Data Engineering Platform team and investing deeply in modern, reliable infrastructure.

We’re seeking a DevOps engineer with hands-on expertise in containerisation, orchestration, cloud platforms, continuous-delivery pipelines, and cloud at scale. In this role, you’ll partner with the team to develop new functionality and modernise existing infrastructure, design pipelines, improve monitoring, logging and alerting, and ensure our systems remain performant, secure, and efficient.

Responsibilities:

This is a hands-on role with high ownership. You’ll collaborate across teams to:

• Modernise our infrastructure by leading the migration from Docker Swarm to Kubernetes
• Design and operate CI/CD pipelines using CloudBees and GitLab
• Build out observability with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and Dynatrace
• Automate cloud deployments (AWS-first) using Terraform and platform tooling
• Improve security posture across IAM, secrets, and networking
• Help the team ship faster and safer by mentoring on DevOps and SRE practices

We're solving for reliability, compliance, performance, and speed – at once. You’ll be key to making it work.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of one or more programming languages (Java/Scala, TypeScript, Python).
• Validated experience operating distributed systems at scale in production.
• Cloud AWS (primary), Kubernetes (future), Docker (current), Terraform.
• Excellent debugging skills across network, systems, and data stack.
• Observability tooling, e.g. custom metrics pipelines, OpenTelemetry tracing, or integrations across telemetry stacks.
• Security engineering and practical understanding of IAM hardening, zero-trust network principles, and secrets management in data-heavy systems.
• Passion for building reliable, secure, and user-friendly platforms and products.

“Nice To Have”:

• Exposure to Azure or GCP environments.
• Experience migrating to Kubernetes (especially from legacy orchestrators!)
• Data platform expertise, knowledge of lakehouse architectures, Delta Lake, or real-time data processing patterns.
• Experience working in hybrid environments with asynchronous teamwork.
• Tuning, profiling and optimising Kafka, Spark, or container networking under load.
