What Is the Opportunity?

Join our dynamic team and take charge of producing and underwriting new and renewal business from our valued brokers. Collaborate with regional and product specialists, internal and external partners to attract new clients, retain loyal customers, and explore new business opportunities. This role combines underwriting and sales, with direct responsibility for broker development and management within your portfolio. Lead and mentor Development Underwriters, fostering team growth. Travelers Europe offers hybrid work arrangements, with flexibility to work three days in the office and two days remotely. This role is eligible for a GBP/EUR 2500 new joiner referral bonus.

What Will You Do?

• Underwrite and assess risk for products and accounts from assigned brokers, making decisions within your authority and providing recommendations.
• Underwrite complex accounts, considering different approaches to maximize profitability.
• Make prompt, sound decisions and negotiate terms within submission timeframes.
• Understand and execute product strategies to meet budgeted results.
• Manage your book of business, maintaining quality and documentation standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with colleagues and brokers, developing sales plans and executing business development strategies.
• Provide excellent customer service and work towards strategic objectives.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain accurate records.
• Lead and participate in regional and product meetings, fostering collaboration.
• Act ethically and complete all required training and certifications.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

• University degree and/or CII Advanced Certification or Diploma preferred.
• Knowledge of industry operations, market insights, and financial drivers.
• Relationship management skills and business acumen.
• Analytical and technical proficiency in underwriting.
• Experience in underwriting management liability, professional indemnity, or financial institutions.
