Job summary

New Forest District Council is seeking two Senior Development Management Officers to help shape the future of the New Forest District. You will manage a busy, varied caseload of complex and major planning applications and present cases to the Planning Committee, with duties including appeals where required.

You will join a proactive team in a hybrid-working environment, delivering growth while preserving the district’s distinctive environment and character.

Responsibilities

• Handle a varied caseload of complex and major planning applications.
• Present cases to the Planning Committee and prepare appeals.
• Supervise a Development Management Case Officer and guide junior staff.
• Collaborate with Councillors, parish councils, planning agents and the public.
• Contribute to transforming and shaping the district's growth while protecting its character.
