Job description

Senior Developer: Monitoring & Alerting Tools

dotslash is a fast-growing start-up dedicated to transforming the world of Service Operations. Founded by industry leaders with a track record of building and scaling successful businesses, we combine deep expertise with fresh thinking to help organisations move from firefighting to intelligent, autonomous operations.

Our proprietary Service Operations Framework is at the heart of everything we do. It’s a 7-layer blueprint that guides enterprises through the maturity journey from Establish → Enhance → Evolve, ensuring technology, people, and process work together seamlessly. Through this, we enable our customers to cut costs, reduce risk, unlock growth, and deliver outstanding user experiences.

We’re proudly independent and vendor-agnostic, but we work closely with cutting-edge partners like HALO ITSM, BigPanda and Dynatrace to bring the best ITSM and AIOps capabilities to our clients. At dotslash, innovation isn’t just a buzzword; it’s how we design, deliver, and scale solutions that reshape the way enterprises run IT.

Joining dotslash means being part of something exciting from the ground up. We’re a start-up with big ambitions, building a culture where creativity, collaboration, and impact thrive. Every voice counts, every idea matters, and every contribution helps shape the future of Service Operations.

Role Overview We are looking for a Senior Developer with strong experience in monitoring and alerting technologies to join our growing team. You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and integrating solutions that improve observability, event management, and automated response for enterprise customers. While we work with a range of platforms, the most important factor is your ability to apply monitoring and alerting expertise to solve complex problems and deliver tangible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain monitoring and alerting integrations, dashboards, and automation.
  • Work closely with consultants and architects to deliver customer-ready solutions.
  • Integrate monitoring tools with ITSM, AIOps, and automation platforms.
  • Develop custom scripts, APIs, or connectors to extend tool functionality.
  • Optimise alerting thresholds, rules, and workflows to reduce noise and improve reliability.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring practices, standards, and methodologies.
  • Mentor junior developers and share best practices across the team.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven hands-on experience with one or more monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Datadog, Prometheus, Zabbix, Nagios, BigPanda, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of event management, log aggregation, and metrics pipelines.
  • Familiarity with ITSM/ITIL practices and incident response workflows.
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerised applications (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with experience engaging enterprise-level customers.

Compensation

  • Bonus: Performance-based, up to 10–15%
  • Benefits: Competitive package with opportunities for learning, certification, and fast career progression in a start-up environment

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work at the forefront of Service Operations transformation.
  • A collaborative, fast-moving start-up environment.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge tools and enterprise-scale projects.
  • Clear growth path with influence on shaping delivery frameworks and solutions.

Build the monitoring, event management and automated-response tooling that moves enterprise clients from eyes on glass to autonomous operations.
