Job summary

Ronald James is seeking a Senior Developer to join the Newcastle upon Tyne team and help design and implement a next-generation platform using TypeScript, React, Node.js and React Native/Expo. You will apply Clean Architecture and Domain-Driven Design principles, contribute to a modern cloud-based stack, and mentor junior engineers in best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with TypeScript, React, Node, or similar modern stacks.
• Interest in Clean Architecture and Domain-Driven Design.
• Commitment to clean, maintainable code.
• Product-focused mindset and understanding of the user and the problem.
• Self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently.
• Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD, or broader DevOps tooling.
• Exposure to React Native / Expo.
• Experience contributing to re-platforming or system-modernisation projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and build new services and features for a next-generation platform.
• Apply clean, scalable engineering principles, including Clean Architecture and Domain-Driven Design.
• Write high-quality, testable code with strong testing discipline, with TDD encouraged.
• Work closely with product to shape requirements and propose effective solutions.
• Support the migration away from legacy systems.
• Mentor mid-level and junior developers in best practices.
