Progress OpenEdge Developer

Up to £55,000

Once a month in office - Preston

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced progress Openedge Developer to join our business working on developments to maintain and enhance our core product. Working in a small team, you will be a Developer who works well across multi-functional teams. Our Developers work closely with our customers, so you will enjoy building relationships and finding solutions to meet our customers’ needs.

Job Purpose

The Senior Developer is responsible for most aspects of software development including tools & processes.

The candidate will contribute to a clear vision with the aim of ensuring that development service, quality, efficiency, and revenue targets are achieved and maintained.

Reporting line/team

This role is part of the Development team and reports to the Development Team Leader.

Key accountabilities

• Complete software design & development activities to ensure compliance with service delivery contractual obligations and commitments

• Where appropriate provide technical advice regarding product(s) the team develops based on an in-depth knowledge of the product, customers, and any existing support issues

• Development of and adherence to industry best practice and/or corporate programming / testing standards and software production

• Work with the Development Team, Customer Services and Professional Services for project and customer support based activities

• Execute Continuous Improvement and/or Lessons Learned in known areas of Development to improve quality and efficiency

• Mentoring junior members of the team
