What is the opportunity?

You will be working closely with the business to create innovative and high
quality technology solutions to support business growth and innovation within the technology team supporting the FX Options group at RBC. You will be a hands-on developer, leading a team of developers working on C++ / python based trading tools used by the FX Options desk. This is an opportunity to work closely with highly-engaged clients on client and server-based pricing technologies.

RBC’s expectation is that from mid-September 2025, all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.

What will you do?

• Collaborate and facilitate decision making with stakeholders (Trading and Quants)
• Collaborate and lead other developers to develop code in line with strategic architecture
• Provide second-level technical support to our FX Options Trading team
• Ability to turn business requirements into effective and robust solutions
• Leads on key design and implementation decisions for the FX Options platform

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Excellent C++ and python skills
• Knowledge of FX and/or derivatives
• Strong focus on delivering working software to production
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to work in a global distributed team of both colleagues and business stakeholders
• Excellent attention to detail

Nice-to-have

• FIX protocol experience
• Knowledge of Kubernetes / Docker / Containerisation
• Messaging / Middleware frameworks
