Senior DevOps Engineer

At ENGIE, we accelerate the energy transition by building the digital platforms that power a sustainable future. Our B2B Supply UK team delivers the technology behind reliable, clean energy services for businesses across the country.

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build, and continuously improve the cloud platforms that underpin our internal and customer-facing digital services. You will ensure software delivery is secure, scalable, and efficient, enabling teams to move fast while meeting the demands of a regulated energy business.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Build, operate, and optimise CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable, repeatable, and secure software delivery.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks to ensure visibility of system health and rapid incident response.
  • Embed security-by-design principles across platforms and pipelines, supporting compliance with ISO 27001, GDPR, and ENGIE policies.
  • Mentor and support less experienced engineers, driving DevOps best practices and capability uplift across teams.
  • Collaborate with development, data engineering, and operations teams to ensure systems meet availability, performance, and cost targets.
  • Influence technical standards, tooling choices, and architectural decisions to improve resilience and operability.
What You Bring
  • Deep hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
  • Advanced knowledge of containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Expert-level skills in CI/CD pipeline design using tools such as GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
  • Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps practices, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience with observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, CloudWatch, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Familiarity with data platforms including Redshift, Databricks, and data pipeline orchestration with Azure Data Factory.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction across teams without formal authority.
  • A practical, structured approach to problem-solving and a self-driven commitment to continuous learning.
Location

Leeds, United Kingdom. Hybrid working arrangement with two days per week in the office. Standard hours apply: 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 4:30pm Friday. Occasional travel to other sites may be required.

What We Offer
  • A competitive salary package reflecting your experience and expertise.
  • A diverse range of missions across cloud, security, automation, and platform engineering.
  • Stimulating, technically challenging work at the heart of the UK energy transition.
  • A friendly, collaborative environment where knowledge-sharing is valued and encouraged.
  • Flexible hybrid working that supports genuine work-life balance.
  • Career development opportunities including mentoring, training, and exposure to group-wide technology initiatives.
