Job summary

Future Build Recruitment are working with an established façade specialist in search of an experienced Senior Designer to own technical design work, coordinating with architects, engineers and site teams, and mentoring junior designers. You will develop design packages from early stages through manufacture and installation, ensuring buildable, regulation-compliant solutions and clear technical guidance.

The role requires 5+ years in façade design, strong AutoCAD 2D skills, knowledge of curtain

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ façade design experience including curtain walling, cladding and fenestration.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Good knowledge of façade manufacturing processes and building regulations CWCT/BS EN standards.
• Experience with curtain walling systems such as Schüco, Aluprof or similar.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor junior designers.

Responsibilities

• Developing detailed façade design packages in line with specifications, design intent and regulatory requirements.
• Producing and reviewing coordinated drawing packages.
• Collaborating with manufacturers, engineers, architects and consultants to resolve technical queries.
• Supporting site teams with installation and technical issues.
• Carrying out site surveys, inspections and technical reviews where required.
• Participating in technical and stakeholder meetings.
• Reviewing drawings produced by other designers to ensure accuracy, buildability and compliance.
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior designers.
• Contributing to improvements in design processes, systems and working practices.

We are working with an established business within the façade industry that is looking to add an experienced Senior Designer to its design team.

This is a hands‑on technical role suited to someone with strong façade design experience who can take ownership of projects, coordinate with other disciplines and provide technical support to junior designers.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing façade design packages from early design stages through to manufacture and installation. You’ll work closely with architects, structural engineers, consultants, manufacturers and site teams to ensure designs are technically sound, coordinated and buildable.

• Developing detailed façade design packages in line with specifications, design intent and regulatory requirements.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

• 5+ years’ façade design experience, covering areas such as curtain walling, cladding, doors and windows.
• Strong AutoCAD 2D skills.
• Good knowledge of façade manufacturing and construction processes.
• Understanding of relevant building regulations, CWCT and BS/EN standards.
• Experience working with curtain walling systems such as Schüco, Aluprof or similar.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and take ownership of design deliverables.
• Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
