We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Senior Boyswear Designer to join a growing company of fashion brands. We are looking for an individual who has a background in denim design and a passion for woven product and workwear. Working in a vibrant and fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating multi-product seasonal collections for two heritage boyswear denim brands. This role requires a deep understanding of both boyswear and denim design, construction and fabrication, as well as the ability to design in capsule collections.
Main responsibilities:
- Drive the design and creative direction for both denim brands, creating contemporary and fashion forward ranges for a global market across multi-product design categories from denim, jersey & sweat through to outerwear.
- Management of critical path deadlines from creative concept to completion.
- Source, develop and select high-quality fabrics / handlooms that meet design and production requirements.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of current and future trends in boyswear/menswear.
- Produce detailed technical specifications and sketches.
- Conduct fit sessions and sample reviews with technical team.
- Present collections to senior management and stakeholders.
- Analyse market / sales data and consumer feedback to inform design decisions.
- Constant communication and relationship building with factories, mills and in-country teams, working closely with the production, technical and merchandising teams.
Person specifications:
- At least 5 years of experience as a wovens designer in the boyswear/menswear industry.
- Specialist denim design experience.
- Proven track record of designing successful and commercially viable collections.
- Strong understanding of menswear design principles, trends, and best practices.
- Excellent technical drawing and sketching skills.
- Highly proficient in CAD software (e.g. Adobe Suite).
- Strong knowledge of fabrics, textiles, and production processes.
- An understanding of print techniques & processes would be a bonus.
