Fresha; Greater London; Hybrid; GBP 90,000 - 120,000; Full time

Job summary

Fresha in London is hiring a Senior Design System Engineer to own Fresha's design systems across web, iOS and Android, with a strong emphasis on web. You'll work with product engineers, designers and agents who build every screen users see.

This is an engineering-first role. You’ll write production code most days, design robust component APIs, tokens and styling, and shape the system so that teams ship accessible, consistent Fresha UI without needing hand-holding.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building frontend software in production.
• Experience with design systems or shared component libraries.
• AI-first approach to coding and tooling.
• Strong React and TypeScript proficiency.
• CSS architecture, tokens and theming expertise.
• Internationalisation and RTL knowledge.
• Figma fluency and design-token understanding.

Responsibilities

• Build the foundations: design and ship components, primitives, tokens and patterns across Fresha surfaces with consistent APIs.
• Build for every language: ensure RTL, text expansion and locale-aware formatting across 30+ languages.
• Build the quality gates: accessibility checks, visual regression, lint rules and tests to enable safe changes.
• Make the system legible to agents: expose data, guidance and examples via the design system CLI.
• Close the gap with design: align Figma and code, minimize hand-offs.
• Work with your users: collaborate with product teams to remove blockers and speed delivery.
• Run the machinery: own infrastructure for syncing, CI, publishing and AI workflows.
• Retire what came before: migrate legacy components and styling via codemods.
