Job summary

SAFRAN Engineering Services in the UK is seeking a Lead Design Quality Engineer for a 12-month contractor role in Pitstone, Hertfordshire. You will drive design quality, airworthiness compliance, and risk mitigation across the full product lifecycle while coaching junior engineers and coordinating with internal teams and regulators.

Your responsibilities include leading design reviews (PDR/CDR), RCCA/FRACA activities, and ensuring DOH and Part 21J compliance for customer products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, science, or engineering desirable.
• APQP, PPAP, FMEA and MSA proficiency expected.
• Experience with ISO9001 and AS9100 quality systems required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee design quality across the NPI and production lifecycle.
• Lead PDR/CDR and design reviews to ensure safety and producibility.
• Coordinate RCCA/FRACA activities and corrective actions.
• Support customer quality escapes and approvals with DOH compliance.
• Monitor KPIs and drive defect prevention initiatives.
