Job summary

MTRP Ltd in the North West of England is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead design activity on utilities and civil engineering schemes, across preconstruction, delivery and aftercare, with a hybrid working arrangement.

You will mentor the design team, manage realistic design programmes, ensure correct specifications, and advise on design risk to commercial, planning and operations.

Qualifications

• Design Manager/Senior Design Manager experience on utilities and civil engineering schemes.
• Commercial awareness with understanding of value engineering.
• IT literate.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Based in or able to commute to the North West of England daily.

Responsibilities

• Control design activity on utilities projects through preconstruction, delivery and aftercare phases.
• Provide advice on design risk to commercial, planning, operations and client teams.
• Produce, agree and manage realistic design programmes.
• Ensure the delivery team are working to the correct specifications.
• Mentor members of the design team.
