The Opportunity:
Laing O'Rourke have an opportunity for a Senior Design Manager to join the team on our national Life Sciences and Healthcare portfolio. The role can be based from any of our Laing O'Rourke offices including; Dartford, Sale, Leeds, Newcastle, St Neots, Glasgow and the factory in Worksop. A Laing O'Rourke Senior Design Manager leads the delivery of effective design across multiple projects, or a single large scale project. They provide a focus for, and lead the pre-construction phase design processes, liaising with the client, the design team, in-house bid team and the operations team. On live projects, they implement and lead the processes that enable the design to be challenged and interrogated within a collaborative team framework, to enable risks to be reduced.
The Laing O'Rourke Senior Design Manager is a senior member of the Design Job Family and Technical Function, which is there to ensure technical excellence, assurance and performance across all projects and opportunities from pre-project, early engagement and work winning through to detailed delivery. All of our designers are part of our Engineering Enterprise which aims to maximise and realise the potential of design to increase certainty on our projects.
