Job summary

GVR Solutions is seeking a Design Manager in Southwest London to lead a small team of CAD Technicians and Design Coordinators on high-end retail and leisure fit-out projects. You will develop client concepts into fully coordinated construction drawings and manage drawing registers to ensure site and factory accuracy.

The role requires 5+ years in technical design for retail/commercial fit-out, advanced AutoCAD skills, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in technical design for retail or commercial fit-out.
• Advanced AutoCAD proficiency and ability to read M&E and structural drawings.
• Self-starter who keeps drawing programmes moving and acts when something is delaying site or manufacture.
• Clear communication and timely issuance of information to the right people.

Responsibilities

• Leading a team of 1-2 CAD Technicians and Design Coordinators.
• Collaborating with Estimating, Commercial Director, Contracts Director, project management, procurement, site managers, clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Developing client concepts and S3 packs into fully coordinated construction and S4–S6 millwork/joinery drawings.
• Owning the drawing register and revision control to ensure accuracy reaching site and factory.
• Checking internal and subcontractor drawings and coordinating M&E, structure, ceilings and landlord interfaces.
• Reviewing tender packs, flagging gaps early and raising RFIs clearly.
• Ensuring drawings meet Building Regulations, CDM 2015 and landlord requirements.
• Producing as-built drawings at completion and supporting 1–2 CAD technicians
