The Opportunity:
Laing O'Rourke has an opportunity for an Electrically biased Senior Design Manager to join our team supporting the Life Sciences and Healthcare portfolio across the country. The role can be based from any of our Laing O'Rourke offices including Dartford, Sale, Leeds, Newcastle, St Neots, Glasgow, and the factory in Worksop.
A Laing O'Rourke Senior Design Manager leads the delivery of effective design across multiple projects or a single large-scale project. They focus on leading pre-construction phase design processes, liaising with clients, the design team, in-house bid team, and operations team. On live projects, they implement and lead processes that enable collaborative design review and risk reduction.
The Senior Design Manager is a senior member of the Design Job Family and Technical Function, ensuring technical excellence, assurance, and performance across projects from pre-project to detailed delivery. All our designers are part of our Engineering Enterprise, aiming to maximize and realize design potential to increase project certainty.
Where will you be based?
Laing O'Rourke operates a flexible working policy. Generally, staff are required to be based at their regular place of work, whether on projects or in offices of clients, delivery partners, or suppliers. Some remote work is possible by agreement, depending on project needs.
