Job Description:

I am currently recruiting a Design Manager for a reputable General Contractor to be based on a large-scale data centre project in the London area. This project is part of a large campus with ongoing work for years to come. Experience in data centres is advantageous but not essential. Key requirements include project delivery ability, a proven track record, and knowledge of CSA and M&E packages. You will work for a market-leading contractor with a diverse business model that emphasizes modern health and safety and employee engagement practices.

Salary depends on experience, with flexibility for high performers who have successfully delivered large commercial or mission-critical projects in the past.

• Conduct regular meetings with the production team and address technical issues promptly
• Manage and coordinate external consultants
• Prepare technical specifications
• Collaborate with key project personnel on costing and design works
• Oversee the design process from planning to project completion
• Ensure consultants prepare detailed designs per Employer’s Requirements and Contractor’s Proposals
• Manage and review design development for value engineering and buildability
• Set up information registers and ensure information control procedures are followed
• Review design development to ensure safe working practices during construction
• Have over five years’ experience as a design/technical manager with a developer or main contractor
• Possess previous M&E experience
• Have a history of completing projects on time and within budget
• Hold a degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
