Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Design Manager to join our Construction team in Castle Donington, East Midlands. You will lead design delivery across public sector schemes, coordinating consultants and managing risk from tender through to delivery.

You will chair meetings, produce design programmes, and maintain reporting while ensuring compliance with design standards and building contracts. This role requires strong contractor-side experience and BIM Level 2 familiarity.

Qualifications

• Experience in a design role within a main contractor environment.
• Knowledge of design process at commercial and construction stages.
• Experience with BIM Level 2 projects and understanding of building contracts.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver design information in line with programmes and schedules.
• Ensure appointed design consultants fulfil duties and comply with standards.
• Assess, mitigate and manage design-related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Chair design meetings, write reports and deliver presentations to stakeholders.

We're looking for a Senior Design Manager to join our Construction team based in Castle Donington, East Midlands.

Location: Castle Donington, East Midlands
Hours: Full time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Kier Construction leads the way in delivering public sector works across our East Midlands Region. This Senior Design Manager role provides essential management and expertise to drive project success from tender through to delivery, working on public sector schemes including education, healthcare, and heritage projects.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Design Manager, you'll be working within the Construction team, supporting them in delivering design excellence across our projects. Your day to day will include:

• Managing and delivering design information in line with agreed programmes and schedules


• Ensuring appointed design consultants fulfil their duties and comply with standards and requirements


• Assessing, mitigating and managing design-related risks throughout the project lifecycle


• Chairing design meetings, writing reports and delivering presentations to stakeholders


• Producing design programmes, responsibility matrices, and maintaining upline reporting
