We're looking for a Senior Design Manager to join our Natural Resources team, working on projects in the Thames Valley region (North). In this role, you'll oversee the design phase of construction projects related to wastewater treatment upgrades and resilience works.

Location:

Working from home and site/offices as needed, primarily focusing on sites in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, and East Hyde, Bedfordshire.

Contract:

Permanent, Full-Time – flexible and part-time hours may be available upon request.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design phase of civils-based construction projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and design consultants to develop comprehensive design solutions.
• Review and approve design drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Ensure adherence to design standards, building codes, and client requirements.
• Develop and implement effective design management processes and procedures.
• Monitor design progress, identify potential issues or risks, and manage design change control and documentation.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
• Proven experience as a Design Manager or similar role in civils/construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM).
