Job summary

PSR Solutions is seeking a Senior Design Manager in Greater London to lead design management on complex healthcare projects, coordinating design information and appointed consultants to meet the programme.

You will develop design programmes, chair design meetings, and ensure compliance with standards and the project brief, with a strong track record delivering civils, substructure and façade design packages on large schemes.

Qualifications

• Degree in construction-related discipline is required.
• Chartered membership (MCIOB/MICE) or equivalent is required.
• Proven healthcare project delivery experience is essential.
• Experience delivering medium to large-scale construction projects.
• Strong civils, substructure, superstructure and façade design package experience.

Job description

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Managing and coordinating the delivery of design information in line with the agreed design programme and project deliverables.
• Overseeing appointed design consultants to ensure they fulfil their contractual responsibilities, reviewing and challenging design submissions to confirm compliance with relevant standards, specifications and the project brief.
• Providing design management and technical input throughout both the pre-construction and construction phases of projects.
• Developing and maintaining design programmes, design scopes, design responsibility matrices, consultant appointments and associated schedules.
• Organising, attending and chairing relevant design meetings, workshops and coordination sessions with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

What are we looking for?

This Senior Design Manager position would suit you if you have:

• A minimum of 8 years' experience working as a Design Manager for a Tier 1 UK contractor.
• A degree in a construction-related discipline.
• Professional chartership, such as MCIOB, MICE or an equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience delivering healthcare projects.
• Experience managing the design and delivery of medium to large-scale construction projects.
• Strong experience delivering civils, substructure and superstructure structural design packages, together with experience managing fa ade design packages, including unitised and off-site systems.
