Job summary

A leading recruitment firm in water sector is seeking a Design Manager/Senior Design Manager to oversee engineering design for water-related projects. The role involves managing multi-discipline portfolios, providing technical mentorship, and ensuring safety compliance. Ideal candidates should have Chartered status, project management experience, and familiarity with 3D design tools. This is a hybrid position based in London, offering a rate of up to £600 per day for a 12-month duration.

Qualifications

• Experience in design of water treatment works, wastewater treatment works, potable water networks, pumping stations, and reservoirs.
• Strong technical mentoring skills for Graduate Engineers and technicians.

Overview

Role: Design Manager/Senior Design Manager
Location: London (Hybrid Working)
Rate: Up to £600 p/day - Inside IR35 (Depending on experience)
Duration: 12 months
Sector: Water & Wastewater Treatment (Non-Infrastructure)

Responsibilities

• Work across the full spectrum of engineering design, including feasibility, optioneering, detailed design, outline design, final design, preparing reports and technical specifications and proposals for water-related non-infrastructure projects for the end client.
• Manage multi-discipline portfolios with AMP Projects and assist the consultancy with design review and submission.
• Be involved in design delivery from inception to detailed design, taking responsibility for major projects and tasks from a technical and management perspective.
• Provide technical mentoring to Graduate Engineers and technicians and participate in multidisciplinary team collaboration.
• Represent the team in client-facing roles and apply Safety in Design principles with a strong focus on health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Chartered or near Chartered status.
• Experience using a 3D design tool and other proprietary software products.
• Project management experience.
• Industry-recognised health and safety qualifications.
• Experience in the design of one or more of the following: Water treatment works; Wastewater treatment works; Potable water networks, pumping stations and reservoirs.
