Job Title: Senior Design Manager

We are seeking a Senior Design Manager to join our Natural Resources team. This role offers flexible working from home and the Falmer office in East Sussex, working on a new 7-year, cGBP1bn framework with Southern Water.

Location: Agile working from home and the Falmer office, East Sussex
Contract: Permanent, Full Time (flexible and part-time hours available upon request)

Responsibilities

As a Senior Design Manager in our NRNN business unit, you will lead engineering design delivery for Water and Wastewater capital projects across the Southern Water region. Your role will include:

• Developing strategies considering various options to identify the best solutions.
• Engaging with clients to ensure full understanding of design solutions and leveraging asset management experience to propose improvements.
• Acting as the main point of contact with design consultants at director level to ensure technical performance standards are met.
• Leading and managing the engineering design process for assigned projects.
• Providing expert support throughout the project lifecycle, from definition through to handover.

What We're Looking For

This role is ideal if you possess:

• Chartered Engineer status with a degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in engineering design, construction, and management.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams to achieve performance targets.
• Extensive knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Experience with quality procedures and document control in engineering design.
