Our client is delivering a major residential-led development in the West Midlands, forming part of a high-value, multi-phase scheme.

They are looking to onboard an experienced Senior Design Manager to play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of the project.

This role offers the opportunity to lead the design process on a complex and technically demanding site, working across all project stages.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the design process from pre-construction through to handover on a large-scale Design & Build scheme.
• Coordinating between internal departments, external consultants, subcontractors, and the construction team.
• Managing and resolving design risk across the project lifecycle.
• Ensuring compliance with technical standards, building regulations, and contract requirements.
• Playing a key role in closing out main contracts and managing design change efficiently.
• Leading and mentoring a team of design coordinators.
• Supporting the project team in achieving key delivery milestones on time and within budget.

Essential experience:

• Demonstrable experience working on complex RC Frame delivery within large residential or mixed-use projects.
• A strong background in Design & Build contracts, with a thorough understanding of their application in large-scale developments.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage consultants, and deliver high-quality design outcomes under pressure.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
