Job summary

ALQUEST TECHNICAL SERVICES LTD in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior System Engineer to join the AgileOne Programme to support MSD UK. The role offers Hybrid work with at least 2 days in the office, located around Cambourne.

You will lead cross-disciplinary R&D projects, define system requirements for hardware, embedded software, RF, and integration, and collaborate with product teams to deliver robust IoT solutions across discovery and delivery stages.

Qualifications

• BSC/MSc in Electrical engineering or higher.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in system engineering of multidisciplinary systems.
• Experience in working with communication products, Embedded, HW, RF systems.
• Problem solver with good personal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to understand complex IoT systems and quickly grasp new technical concepts with focus on challenges ahead and alternative comparison
• Experience of working in complex multidisciplinary projects that requires a high level of technical know-how

Role Description

Leadership of the Product team is shared between the Product Manager and the Technology Lead, ensuring balanced guidance that bridges product vision and technical execution.

As Senior System Engineer you will have significant impact on our multi-disciplinary R&D projects, grow with us as we venture into new technologies and will lead work groups in our projects as part of the connected devices line of products during the product lifecycle of both discovery and delivery.

Role Functions

The responsibilities will include defining System, HW, Embedded, ATE, SW & Integration requirements as well as contributing to the design stage of each discipline, defining the protocol, technical problem solving, proof of concept and field testing and assisting in tests design and investigations.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

The position requires multidisciplinary understanding, ability to quickly grasp new technological aspects as well as constraints , the capability to work in a multi-site matrix organization and working closely in a Product and Platform team with other system engineers, embedded software developers, HW engineers, Integration Engineers as well as backend and front-end teams.
