A well-established high-performance motorcycle manufacturer is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to contribute to their Powertrain project. The role involves CAD design, development of 3D models, and collaboration across different teams to ensure effective product integration. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering degree and extensive experience in automotive design.

Job Details

• 45 hours per week
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of CAD design experience in the automotive or motorcycle industry
• Proficiency with PTC Creo
• Strong understanding of powertrain systems and mechanical design principles
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Additional Responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings of powertrain components (e.g., engine cases, cylinder heads, crankshafts, transmission gears, covers, intakes and exhausts)
• Create assemblies and integrate them into complete motorcycle models, ensuring compatibility and packaging feasibility
• Support the design and development of internal combustion engines and hybrid/electric powertrains
• Perform tolerance stack-ups, material selection, and design for manufacturability (DFM)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, testing, procurement, and vehicle integration
• Conduct design reviews and implement feedback from simulation, validation, and prototype testing
